Raise your hand if you are completely overwhelmed at the thought of being a parent?! (ME. ME!) Raise your hand if you are also working full/part-time, a stay at home mom, or just completely exhausted from pregnancy. (ME!). With less than 6 weeks until our baby is born, I thought I'd share my first mom hack with you all. Hopefully you all will find this as helpful as I do!
Ever since my husband and I started trying to get pregnant, I began (like I'm sure many of you) creating pinterest boards of every detail of what the nursery would look like, outfits for the non-existent child, and throwing around cute baby names. Well...now that I am pregnant, all of that just went out the window. Let's be real, pregnancy can get you down. I'm not at all what I thought I would be as a mom to be. I'm usually very Type A personality, but for some reason since becoming pregnant those little details that I thought I would be obsessing over, just really don't matter to me.
Some might call me lazy, and you might be right. But hey, mommin' ain't easy and if you need to cut a few corners to get through this journey, then you've found the right post!
O.M.G. are there so many baby items. WHY? Seriously, there are hundreds of different cribs, bottles, bedding, breast pumps, etc. It's the most overwhelming thing to have to choose what to register for.
If you are anything like me, then by the time you get home from work your feet are killing you, you're probably hungry, and most often tired. The last thing you want to have to think about is researching the million different baby products there are out there for your registry. So why not make it easy on yourself and ask the people who've already done all the research and have first hand knowledge on what's useful and what's a waste of money? That's exactly what what I did. I made a Facebook post to all my mommy friends to post their favorite/most useful baby products and what was an absolute waste of money. I know that every baby is different and just because one person's child love an items, another's might hate it. Here's the feedback I got and what I did end up registering for based on their recommendations.
Bottles:
Everyone told me not to register for tons of bottles because, your baby might not like the ones that you chose, so they recommended that I get a few different kinds to try out. Here's the ones that were most recommended and that I registered for:

Bottles:
Everyone told me not to register for tons of bottles because, your baby might not like the ones that you chose, so they recommended that I get a few different kinds to try out. Here's the ones that were most recommended and that I registered for:
*tip: when you register at Target, you can get a welcome goody bag that has a free bottle in it! You can also get some amazing goodies from registering at Amazon!
Baby Loungers/Sleeping:
One of the number one items that just about every mom said I needed was this! Everyone said that this was a lifesaver and the only thing that their baby would sleep in. So, it was a no brainer for me when registering. The price is great too!
Also, so many people talked about this item and and this item. I had mixed reviews from few people, but ultimately decided on getting this one, just because I've seen a lot of mom bloggers rave about these!
When looking for a bassinet, I feel in love with this one! The price scared me, but my sister in law just had a baby a few months ago and she loves hers! So, I registered for it anyways and guess what?!? I got it!! Ps. My SIL says you also need this for the bassinet when you have a newborn.
Baby Monitor:
This one was not recommended by any of my mommy friends. I actually saw this on a blogger's Instagram that I love and follow. I had never seen anything like this before. I like that you do not have to attach anything to the wall. You simply wrap it around the baby's crib or even can stand it up. It's Bluetooth and WiFi so all you do is download an app to your phone and you can view the camera from anywhere! My husband and I joke that once we don't need it anymore for the baby, we are going to set it up to creep on our dog while we are at work :)
Stroller/Car seat/Car Accessories:
I know that this is the Cadillac of baby strollers and car seats, but I registered for this one. It has great reviews, the price is completely reasonable, and it was recommended by a lot of moms! You know your mamma friends know what they are talking about! You'll also want an extra base for your hubby's car too!
Changing Pad:
I originally wanted a changing pad that would wipe clean with a damp cloth or a baby wipe, but my father-in-law insisted that I get this one. I'm pretty pumped about using this bad boy! It's not only a changing pad, but it actually weighs the baby too! It even charts it via a free app (you can do a ton of other things on the app too! Like tracking the type and number of dirty diapers, feeding, and sleep schedule).
Diaper Bag:
I don't know why, but I fell in love with this diaper bag! I love the color (there are three color options) and like that it doesn't look like your typical diaper bag. Because, you know I'm going to be a "cool mom" right! Ha!
Nursing:
So, I am going to give breastfeeding my very best shot! I really want to be good at it so I'm not going to give up easily. When asking around for some must haves for nursing, I was recommended this item. As far as breast pumps there were two very popular recommendations: Medela and Spectra
I ended up getting two of these, one for work and one for home! I decided on this one because I had a nurse at baby class recommend this one and a very recent new mom said that this one was the way to go!
Miscellaneous:
I'm a shopper by nature :) sooo I can see many trips to Target in my future with baby boy. I know I had to have this shopping cart lounge that was flooding Instagram! This was not recommended by anyone, but it's the coolest thing I've ever seen. It's super compact so you can throw it in your diaper back and looks super easy to set up and use!.
Now, this genus invention was recommended as a must have by a cousin. She told me that she thought this was a joke until her photographer used it during her son's newborn photos. She immediately Amazon Primed it in the car on the way home!
Now, all you need is a crib, some outfits for baby, diapers, wipes, towels, blankets, bath items, and you'll be all set! (well, kinda!)
I do have one more mom hack to share that has to do with registries. If you can not imagine looking at one more baby item, but know that you need to get your registry done, then this is the hack for you. We all have that person who is super obsessed with researching every detail when it comes to picking out items for their baby. So...why not find all of their registries online and just copy it? Yep, you're thinking..duhhh why didn't I think of that.. You're welcome!

Change of subject!
I have been looking forward to this day since finding out that I was having a baby shower! Although I am so thankful and excited about all the sweet gifts we received for our baby boy, I was more excited about seeing everyone at the shower. Some of the family members and friends that came, I haven't seen in a long time. So it was so much fun chatting with them and seeing their face when they saw how LARGE I am :)
Here's a couple of photos from the day!
