I'm hoping that by the time I click publish on this blog post that I am officially a mom! As I write this post, I am 39 weeks pregnant and oh so very ready to have this baby! One of the things that I am looking forward to once I am no longer pregnant (besides loving on my baby) is to finally wear normal clothes again!
Y'all, maternity clothes are all fun and games until you hit those last few weeks and those nice and comfy maternity clothes stop fitting! It's too late in the #bumpstyle game to go out and purchase more maternity clothes by that time.
During my pregnancy, I missed out on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because I didn't want to purchase anything that wouldn't end up fitting once I delivered. I thought about buying just shoes, but FUN FACT, your foot grows too while your pregnant! Weird! I went from a 6.5 to now a 7.5. Anyways, I read a fellow mom blogger's post about how to get your body back after pregnancy and she said something that really blew my mind. Her post said that you should start trying to fit into your old clothes as soon as possible. She said even though your jeans will be snug (or in my case, EXTREMELY tight!), it will help you to remember to be conscious about what you are eating. I know some of you are reading this and saying NO NO NO NO. You need to eat! I get it, that's not what I am saying and not what she meant either. Being conscious about what you are eating is not starving yourself. I've developed some horrible eating habits since being pregnant that are going to take me a while to get rid of. So, having that little reminder will help me make better decisions about what I am putting in my mouth.
Anyways....where I am going with this is, I've started shopping again! I'm slowly preparing my closet for Fall and for my new mom bod :) Fall to me is all about flannels, sweaters, and booties. I live in Texas so it really takes us a long time to get actual Fall weather and being a new mom, I don't really see myself getting out too much at first. But, when I do make it out of the house it will be important to me to feel good about myself. I never want to be one of those people who just let themselves go. I need to feel good about myself in order to be the best parent I can be for my son.
Here are some of my fav items that I have in my cart/recently purchased. *Disclaimer, I do you affiliate marketing links. If you click on any link and end up making a purchase, I will make a small commission. Yay! :)
