First Trimester Favorites

Hi Friends! So I made it past the first trimester of pregnancy! Yay! I've honestly have had the easiest pregnancy so far (Thank you God!). Some of my friends are miserable with morning sickness and I can honestly say that I never had an issue with it. Only a slight nausea when I'm hungry.

Anyways, since I have made it thus far, I thought I would share a few of my favorite finds during my first trimester. My list is a little random and probably completely different from those you might have seen in the past, but these are things that made life easier during the first trimester. Before I go into details about my favorites, please make sure that you check with your dr. first before using any of these products while pregnant. Everyone is different so what works for me might not work for you.

1. Tums
Okay, so this is number one on my list for a reason. Heartburn is legit when you are pregnant. I get heartburn from drinking water. These have been a lifesaver. I keep them on my nightstand where I can reach them in the middle of the night without turning on the lights. My heartburn accelerates at night! I also keep a little ziplock bag full of them in my purse because you never know when the heartburn will strike. (check with your dr. before you start using)

2. St. Tropez Self Tan
So, as things on your body are stretching and growing its hard to feel like yourself. Using this self tanner has really helped me feel more confident in my new shape :) There's just something about a tan that just makes a girl feel good! I use this once every 3 weeks or so on my legs, arms, neck and chest. I do not put it on my belly or on my boobs. It's a personal preference :) (again, check with your dr.)

3. Dr. Brandt's No More Baggage
During the first trimester exhausting is so intense. It's like nothing you have ever felt before. My husband and I would get in the car for a 15 min. drive for dinner and I would nap the entire way. I seriously could sleep anywhere and anytime. Usually when you think of bags under your eyes, you that it's from lack of sleep, but I've noticed that sleeping too much can do this as well. I first saw this on Ashlee Knichols's Instastories. She raved about it and I thought, what the heck, it's half off! So, I bought it and it's a game changer. I'll be using it on the regular for....the. rest. of. my. life.

4. L'Oreal BB Cream
This was also an Ashlee Knichol's recommendation (go follower, she's got great style and shares amazing sales and products). This stuff is green when you put it on, but it turns into the shade of your skin when you rub it in. It's the coolest! On days where I'm dragging myself out of bed, this stuff is a lifesaver! Tip: don't put on moisturizer or primer right before you apply this

5. Peppermint Oil
I experienced headaches all of the time during the first trimester and nothing help! I really didn't want to take medicine unless I just had to. So, my mom told me to try peppermint oil. I didn't think that it would work, but I was pleasantly surprised. I use a very, very small amount and rub it on my temples when I would start to feel a headache coming on. It really helped! (ask your dr. first!)

6. Baby Doppler
Once I heard our precious baby's heartbeat, I wanted to hear it everyday. One of my best friends that is currently pregnant with her second child (we are two weeks apart!) told me that she bought a doppler on Amazon and would listen to her first child's heartbeat whenever she wanted. Thanks to Amazon Prime, mine arrived in two days later! I love it. I watched a Youtube video on how to find the heartbeat and what it sounds like so I knew what to do, but it's really pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Now I will warn you, if you are someone who freaks out easy I would not recommend this for you. I say that because sometimes you just can't find the heartbeat for whatever reason and it could cause you to worry. Also, I do not recommend doing this every day.

7. Body Boost Stretch Mark Butter
When I found out I was pregnant I immediately bought some Palmer's Coco butter to prevent stretch marks. I have used a variety of Palmer's products my whole life and have always loved them, but for some reason I could not stand the smell of the lotion once I got pregnant! I am so glad I found this lotion by Basq. It has a very mild smell (they do have a scent-free option too) and so far so good on the stretchies! (fingers crossed)

8. iRobot 690
Okay, I know. This is the most random item on the list. But, y'all my feet killed me during the first trimester. It didn't matter if I wore the most comfortable shoes in the world, they throbbed. Also, add in the extreme exhaustion in the equation and you've got one lazy mama to be. The iRobot entered my life at just the right time. It is the BEST! I can control it from my phone and through Alexa! Plus, it works so good! Cleo sheds so bad and brings in so much dirt/sand from outside and this thing cleans it all up! The best part about it is that I do not even have to get off the couch to use it. Trust me, do yourself a favor and make the purchase. It's worth every penny. Your welcome.

I hope that you enjoyed my favorites from my first trimester!
